YOU MAY BE WONDERING...
Common upper face includes forehead (frontalis muscle), in between the eyes (commonly known as the “11’s” or your glabellar complex), wrinkles on the outside of your eyes (“crows feet” or orbicularis). Less common treatments include an eyebrow lift and bunny lines on the nose.
Common lower face treatments include: fix for a gummy smile, downturned smile (think RBF), dimpling of the chin, masseter treatment for jaw slimming and teeth clenching, and the ever popular lip flip to subtly outturn the upper lip. Less common treatments included the platysmal bands.
Neurotoxin is also commonly used for migraine treatment and hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating in the armpits).
In-person consultations are required to determine the number of units appropriate for each individual. Consultations are free of charge.
A typical treatment will take 5-10 minutes. A full visit and individualized treatment plan will have you in and out within a half hour.
Slightly. However, our expert injectors utilize various methods to minimize the pinch of the smallest commercially available needle on the market.
It depends. At Rella Aesthetics, we administer both Botox and Dysport neurotoxins. For example, Botox takes between 4-7 days to see results in effect, with full effect by 2 weeks. Dysport will see results within 2-5 days, with full effect by 10 days.
Neurotoxin treatment temporarily paralyzes the muscle, with results typically lasting between 3-4 months. However, results correlate directly to the amount of neurotoxin used. More units means longer results. Dose is duration.
Headaches are a common side effect, especially with forehead treatments, that usually last only a few days. Slight asymmetries are also possible. Decreased sweating, smaller pore size, and clearer skin are also common results following treatment.
It’s possible. However, there is less than a 1% chance of eyelid ptosis.
Do not rub or massage the treated area. Avoid exercise for the next 12 hours. Avoid lying on your face for at least 4 hours following the injection.
Yes. It takes time to optimize an individualized treatment plan. Touch up treatments are available after a 2 week waiting period to allow the neurotoxin to fully integrate into your muscles, after which you may schedule a follow up treatment with up to 6 units for free.
